Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation E-Field Modelling Workshop
Where: DC, Venue TBD
When: Saturday, November 11th from 8am-12pm
Interested in learning how to create e-field models of brain stimulation for paper figures and grant applications?
The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH/NIH) is hosting a Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation E-Field Modelling Workshop on Saturday, November 11th from 8am-12pm immediately prior to SFN. The latest round of funding announcements at NIMH (https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/rfa-files/RFA-MH-17-600.html) include requirements to define the spatial aspect of dosage including: “Characterization of the spatial aspects of delivered dose for electromagnetic devices should use realistic head modeling to simulate the amplitude of the electric field induced across the brain, and should evaluate degree of target to non-target stimulation.”
To help the wider neuroscience community submit responsive applications, we have convened a workshop where a variety of e-field modeling toolsets will be demonstrated. The goal is to provide researchers with a hands on experience with various toolsets so they can produce their own e-field modeling simulations. This will allow them the flexibility to explore new targets on their own and produce high quality figures for grant applications and papers.
